August 6, 2010His whispers slithered through the receiver, delivering the usual venom: He was only human, he loved her more than all the rest of them, he didn’t know why he couldn’t keep it all in check. He was smoother than ever, and she wanted to let her head go all fuzzy in the presence of so much poison, to let herself slip off into a profound coma.
